Introducing the Super Bishop's
The Green Smoothie Girl video I submitted was called the Un-Super Heroes, and I was going through my pics and found these. We (I) am taking our future into our own hands and becoming our own superhero. We can and will get to be a healthy family! Sorry about my creepy, crazy, and cheesy grin. I hate getting my picture taken so I quite often start acting goofy to hide my embarrassment. Plus KJ just takes too darn long to get the camera ready and I just get bored. I wish Kisha and Tristan were with us, but they didn't come with us on our road trip from Utah to Tennessee which is where these were taken. They were taken at a rest stop on the way back to Utah.

Teasing over...I didn't win the Green Smoothie Girl Makeover :(
I received an email from BlendTec on Wednesday asking me to call them about the Green Smoothie Girl Makeover. I did and they said Robyn, THE Green Smoothie Girl, wanted to meet me because I was one of the finalists. It was hard to not let my hopes get too high, and unfortunately rightly so. They decided to choose their 3 winners without seeing me even though they said they wanted to. I actually submitted my entry at the last minute, so I'm pretty sure that was partly the reason. It doesn't help me feel any less sad. This was going to be a great big help in my quest for health not to mention that it would have been gifts worth well over $550. That doesn't include the invaluable benefit of learning directly from Robyn herself. I promised Robyn that I would continue my quest for health, and I will. It might be at a slower pace, but I'll get there.
In the past I've been afraid of what people would think or say to me for eating such drastically differently than the "SAD Diet" (Standard American Diet). I'm over it. I'm getting use to the lady or gentleman at the grocery store saying things to me like, "Someones on a health kick. Are you going to make banana bread? Do you work at a smoothie place?" I know I've got a long way to go and I don't exactly look like someone who only eats fruits and vegetables. But that doesn't matter to me. I've never liked the idea of calorie counting. It doesn't seem smart to me. I'd rather feed my body with all of the natural foods that our Heavenly Father gave us. In a way I feel like it brings me closer to him, because I'm sure it's what he would be eating if he were on the earth.
If any of you regular Bishop's Biz blog readers are interested in reading about my search for health I have a separate blog for that called www.tobethebestme.blogspot.com. Look for the link along the right hand side with all the other links to blogs I follow. Just so you know I talk openly on that blog about my depression and struggles I deal with regards to life and my kids.

I've decided to become a Raw Foodist
I've finally found a title that describes the way of eating that I want to follow called Raw Foodist. Before I was calling myself a Raw Vegan, but I'm not going to make sure my shoes aren't made of leather, and I'm not going to throw away my leather coat, or anything else that goes along with being a Vegan. Yeah sure, I care about animals, but I also believe in the Bible and in it says that animals are made for the use of man in the season thereof.
Why am I bringing this up? Because I've also found a wonderful website and blogger that is located right here in Utah. Her website is www.greensmoothiegirl.com. I found out that she is holding a contest. If you win the contest she will put you on the Internet Pilot of her Green Smoothie Girl Makeover TV. She will also give you free her 12 Steps to Whole Foods Complete Course, and a free BlendTec Total Blender. I have wanted one of these blenders for YEARS! So the next couple of posts are my submissions to her contest.
